1st Period analysis
The Hurricanes have been having more momentum early in the period and have been applying the pressure in the offensive zone. Carolina gets a penalty and the Kings are on the power play early. I,ya Kolvalcuk had a good shot and Jeff Carter tipped the puck on net but could not score as he got a rebound on the tipped shot. The Kings powerplay could not equalize but as the penalty expires the Kings were jamming at the crase to try and get a goal but could not bury the puck. Carolina has been putting lots of pressure in the Kings zone and they have also been having an aggressive forecheck on defense as well. Jack Campbell has made some good saves to keep the game tied. 2nd Period analysis
Carolina has maintained the pressure in the offensive zone from the 1st period and continued it into the 2nd. Jack Campbell has made some great saves early in the 2nd period and the Kings defense has been good as they have been getting the sticks in the lane. Martin Necas walked right down the middle and scored to give the Hurricanes and early 1-0 lead. The Kings take a another penalty. The Canes have been finding ways the start breakouts from the neutral zone to enter into the offensive zone. The Kings had a good chance at the front of the goal as Anze Kopitar passed the puck to Dustin Brown who was in front of the net to tip the pass but they could not get a goal.
