2019-20 Regular Season Game 5 Vegas Golden Knights Vs LA Kings

1st Period analysis
Kings draw a pentaly 36 seconds into the game and the team gets a powerplay early on. The Kings had a good chance on the powerplay but could not equalize. The Kings are getting into the offensive zone and have made some good crisp passes. The Kings turn over the puck in their own zone and Vegas forward Riley Smith scores to make it 1-0. The Kings are outshooting Vegas 7-3 throughout the first 5 minutes of the period. Dustin Brown takes a penalty for Holding a Vegas player’s stick. Vegas scores again on the powerplay as Max Pacioretty goes bar down and makes it 2-0. The Kings create a turnover in the neutral zone and Austin Wagner picked the puck up and ripped the puck topped shelf to make it a 1-2 game. Both teams have had decent chances but have been shooting just wide of the net. The Kings get their 2nd power play of the game due to an Interference call. The Kings had a lot of possession on the powerplay but again could not convert on the powerplay. Marc-Andre Fleury made an amazing stop on a 2 on 1 for the Kings. The Knights have had more offensive zone time towards the end of the period. The Kings had a good attack in the offensive zone and had some good shots on goal but could not find the back of the net as the period came to a close.

1st Period Goals 
At 5:42 in the 1st period the Golden Knights scored good make it 1-0. The goal was scored by number 19 Riely Smith, the goal was his (1st of the game and 4th of the season). Then at 6:59 Vegas made it 2-0. The goal was scored on the powerplay by number 67 Max Pacioretty, the goal was his (1st of the game and 2nd of the season). 50 seconds later at 7:49 the Kings scored to make it a 1-2 game. 2nd Period analysis
Both teams had quick transitions into the offensive zone. The Kings have good breakout attempts into the offensive zone. Ryan Reaves made a good hit on Sean Walker. Jonathan Quick has made some good saves so far in the period. Vegas has had some good chances on goal mid way through the period. The Knights have more momentum in the offensive zone and good shots. The Kings have had some good chances in the offensive zone but still couldn’t score. The Kings take a penalty but Jonathan Quick have been making some good saves on the penalty kill. Vegas score again of a deflection from Paul Stastny. The Kings took another penalty with under 5 minutes to play in the period. The Golden Knights scored again on the powerplay and Paul Stastny scored again. Jonathan Quick made a good save and then Alex Iafallo had a counterattack but couldn’t score on a breakaway. 

2nd Period Goals
At 14:51 the Knights made it 4-1. The goal was scored on the powerplay by number 26 Paul Stasny, the goal was his (1st of the game and 2nd of the season). Then at 17:00 the Knights scored again to make it 4-1. The goal was scored on the powerplay by number 26 Paul Stasny, the goal was his (2nd of the game and 3rd of the season). 

2nd Period Penalties

3rd Period analysis
The Kings get a goal as Dustin Brown finishes off a nice pass from Anze Kopitar to make it a 2-4 game, but 17 seconds later Vegas scored to make it 5-2. Vegas has had more zone time and possession and continued momentum that they had in the 2nd period into the 3rd. The Kings have been jamming at the net but have not been able to get the puck in. The Kings get another powerplay and have not been able to get a goal on the powerplay all game long. 

3rd period Goals
