2018-19 Regular Season Game 73 San Jose Sharks Vs LA Kings

Good Evening Hockey Fans! Tonight the Kings play thier rivals from the north as the San Jose Sharks are in town. Tonight the Sharks will be without star defenseman Erik Karlsson and forward Jose Pavelski. The Sharks currently sit 2nd in the Pacific Divsion. The Kings will be playing with 11 forwards and 7 defenseman for tonight’s matchup. Comedian and actor Will Ferall will be in the Kings broadcasting booth to do play by play for the 2nd period as his character Ron Burgandy from the movie Anchorman.

1st period analysis

Both teams are getting chances early on. Kyle Clifford had a great shot on the backhand which was denuded by Sharks goaltender Martin Jones. Sean Walker gave a nice pass to Dustin Brown who fried home a bullet to give the Kings an early lead. The Kings are getting good chances on net,along with some good defensive pressure on the Sharks. The Kings get a good breakout as Carl Grundstrom had a towards the end of the period both teams were playing good defense. The Kings are playing good man to man defense and are not letting the Sharks be able to not get quality shots. The Sharks get a goal late in the period as the Sharks get a shot from the top and tipped in by Barclay Goodrow.

Sharks forward Tomas Hertl took a shot from the far circle and fired a shot home as San Jose took the lead early in the 2nd period. Both teams are continuing to get good shots and as well good breakouts into the offensive zone.

The Kings have been playing really good man to man defense throughout the game. Alex Iafallo gloved the puck down and passed it to Matt Roy who fired home a rocket for his first career NHL goal. The Kings pop the puck free from the broads and Anze Kopitar has a breakaway and makes a nice deke on Martin Jones to give the Kings the lead for the second time in the game. The Kings finished off the game by scoring an empty net goal.

At 9:28 in the 3rd period the Kings scored to tie the game up at 2-2. The goal was scored by Matt Roy, the goal was his first NHL career goal. Then at 11:45 the Kings regained the lead by a score of 3-2. The goal was scored by number 11 Anze Kopitar, the goal was his (1st of the game and 21st of the season). At 18:43 the Kings made it a 4-2 game via an empty net goal. The goal was scored by number 77 Jeff Carter, the goal was his (1st of the game and 11th of the season).
