2018-19 Regular Season Game 65 Chigaco Blackhawks Vs LA Kings

Good Afternnon Kings Fans! For today’s Hockey Night In LA matchup the Chicago Blackhawks are in town to battle your LA Kings. The Kings are on a ten game losing streak coming into today’s game. Here’s what Kings captain Anze Kopitar said about the teams losing streak following the loss to Dallas on Thursday night. “I mean just eliminate mistakes. I don’t feel like, you know, some of the goals that the other team scored, it’s clear cut off of our mistakes and eliminate those and keep on working hard”. The Hawks are still fighting for a playoff spot as they are only five points out for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

1st period analysis


The Kings get a powerplay early in the period to start the game and converted as Dustin Brown on a breakaway as his first shot attempt got saved but jammed the puck home for the first goal of the game. The Kings got another powerplay and scored again as Adrian Kempe made a no look pass to Sean Walker, and Walker fired a bullet off the post and in. The Kings have been dominating the puck possession and zone time to start the game. The Kings took a penalty for Tripping, and Hawks right winger Patrick Kane had three chances but Jonathan Quick made some great saves. The Kings scored another goal to put 3 on the board in the 1st period, as Ilya Kovalchuk fired home a one time pass from Jeff Carter. The Hawks had good puck movement at the top of the slot and Brendan Perlini fired it home to get Chicago on the board.

2nd period analysis
The Kings got caught making a bad line change and Brendan Perlini scored to make it only a one goal game. Both teams went to the box and there was a 2 minutes for four on four. Both teams are having good puck possession midway through the period. Connor Murphy came into the King's zone as it was a 1 on 1 as Austin Wagner was the last man back and Murphy ripped a shot as the puck knuckled right past Jonathan Quick and went bad down into the net to tie the game. The Kings entered the Hawks zone with a 2 on 0 as Jonny Brodzinski made a sweet saucer pass to Adrian Kempe, Kempe then walked right in made a couple of nice moves and scored to give the Kings the lead. Chicago has more puck possession and zone time near the end of the period. The Hawks got some chances late as one shot rang off the post. The Kings get a penalty at the end of the period. The Kings did a good job at killing the penalty at the end of the period.

At 2:06 in the 2nd period the Hawks made it a 2-3 game. The goal was scored by number 11 Brendan Perlini, the goal was his (2nd of the game and 7th of the season). Then at 6:57 the Hawks tied the game at 3-3.
