2018-19 Regular Season Game 33 LA Kings Vs Columbus Bule Jackets

Good Evening Kings Fans! Your LA Kings are playing the third game of the four game Mid-Atlantic road trip as the team heads to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Blue Jackets. The Kings will be without defenseman Dion Phaneuf for this game due to Phaneuf suffering an injury in the last game against the Buffalo Sabres. The Kings called up defenseman Daniel Brickley as a backup defenseman. Fun fact about the Blue Jackets is that inside Nationwide Arena is the team’s practice rink, which hosts numerous events through the season including team practices, and youth hockey games. Jackets forward Cam Atkinson leads the team with 32 points, while for your LA Kings forward Anze Kopitar leads the team with 20 points.

At 3:54 in the 1st period the Kings scored to any early 1-0. The goal was scored by number 23 Dustin Brown, the goal was his (1st of the game and 9th of the season). Then at 5:31 the Jackets came back and tied the game up at 1-1. The goal was scored by number 45 Lucas Sedlak, the goal was his (1st goal of the game and season). At 10:13 the Jackets made it 2-1. The goal was scored by number 9 Artemi Panarin, the goal was his (1st if the game and 8th of the season).

1st period analysis.
Dustin Brown scoring only 3 minutes in to  gave the Kings an early lead. The Kings come out fast to start the game. The Blue Jackets came right back to score as the Adrian Kempe and Paul LaDue bump into each other and give up a goal. Jonathan Quick robbed Blue Jackets forward Pierre Luc-Dubois blind with an amazing save. Great play from Dustin Brown as he made a nice to Anze Kopitar who passed it Alex Iafallo who shot it  just wide of the net. The Jackets created a turnover and the Kings had bad defense and the Jackets were right on the doorstep and slammed the puck home. The Kings have been creating scoring chances but have not been able to find the net on these chances. Drew Doughty and Josh Anderson have been going at it and throwing hits at each other.

At 16:25 in the 2nd period the Jackets made it a two goal lead by a score of 3-1. The goal was scored by number 9 Artem Panarian, the goal was his (2nd goal of the game and 10th of the season). Then 20 seconds later at 16:45 the Jackets made it 4-1. The goal was scored by number 77 Josh Anderson, the goal was his (1st of the game and 13th of the season).

2nd period analysis
Kings playing good defense early in the period. Brendan Leipsic takes it end to end and gets a good shot on net. Kings still managing to put pressure on the Jackets. Kings penalty kill is getting lucky as the Jackets keep firing in the Kings zone. Jonathan Quick made another outstanding save point blank. Kings keep dumping and chasing the puck. Adrian Kempe has a good shot and rebound the was set up for Tyler Toffoli but Toffoli could not put the puck in the net. The Kings stick checking the defensive zone looked good. Dustin Brown creating a chance in net but no one was there to get a rebound. The Kings power play unit has gotten some great chances and good puck movement. Tyler Toffoli making a tie drag and firing a nice shot on net. The Kings gave up two goals in 20 seconds.

3rd period analysis.
Players getting scrappy early in the period. Kings were getting bodies in front of the net to get a screen and the Kings draw a penalty. Kings end drawing a penalty as the Jackets had a breakaway. Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown have been playing with a lot of energy tonight as they have been hitting well tonight. Brown has also created a lot of the Kings scoring chances tonight.
