2018-19 Regular Season Game 27 Carolina Hurricanes Vs LA Kings

Good evening hockey fans! Your LA Kings are back home as tonight they host the Carolina Hurricanes who have been doing extremely well this year. Ilya Kovalchuk will be out four weeks with an ankle injury. The Kings have been bitten by the injury bug hard this year.

Kings applying shots on goal earlier on. The Canes were showing good passing and shots in the Kings zone. Kings get a turnover in the Canes which lead to a good chance on goal. Jonathan Quick looking good in goal make a couple of quick saves when the Canes were on the attack. Kings have been winning lots of faceoffs. Carolina’s goalie Peter Merazak making clutch saves on the Kings when they had a scoring chance in front of the net. Kings continuing to fire shots on net. Quick is looking phenomenal in the period. Both teams are getting lots of chances this period. Kings are outshooting the Canes in this period. Canes putting pressure on the Kings late. Drew Doughty helping out Jonathan Quick by blocking a shot near the crease to save a goal from being scored.

2nd period analysis

Slow start to the period. Kings getting an early power play. The Kings were getting better looks on the power play. Kings playing good defense. Kings take a penalty but killed it off by playing good defense and killing time by dumping it into the Canes zone. Carolina maintaining pressure in the Kings zone but Jonathan Quick looking stellar against the Canes offense. Kings get their third power play of the game.The Kings are using their speed to get into the offensive zone quickly. Kings had a chance at side open net but could not get a clean look on net. Alec Martinez playing good defense to define a scoring opportunity for Carolina. Kings get another power play chance. The Kings maintaining pressure on this power play. Kings getting good shots late in the final minute of the period. Kings still lead the Canes in shots on goal to end the period.

Then at 19:07 the Kings added an empty to finish the game off by a score of 2-1. The goal was scored by numbe 13 Kyle Clifford, the goal was his (1st goal of the game and 4th of the season).


3rd period analysis
Kings flying down the ice but still couldn’t find a way to score. Kings blocking shots and making good turnovers, Kings take two penalties in a span of 20 seconds both penalties are tripping. Jonathan Quick playing great tonight making amazing saves and putting on a clinic tonight. Kings with an amazing penalty kill. Kings stick checking well after a Carolina rush. Kings win a faceoff and Alec Martinez goes to the net and scored a goal to give the Kings the lead.
