2023-24 Regular Season Game 26 LA Kings At Seattle Kraken

1st Period Analysis: The Kraken scored early on to make it a 1-0 game. The Kings were able to get some chances midway through the period, but the Kraken continued to sustain pressure in the offensive zone. The Kings managed to tie the game up as Phillip Danault tapped the puck between his own legs and passed it to Trever Moore and Moore cut past the Kraken defense and dangle past the goaltender and put it in the back of the net. Both teams traded chances in tiges with about 6 minutes left in the play. The Kings had more offensive zone time and the Kraken took a penalty late into the period. The Kings got their first power play of the game but could not convert on it. Both teams head into the first intermission tied at 1-1.

1st Period Goals: Kraken goal scored by number 6 Adam Larsson (1st of the game and 2 of the season), assisted by number 94 Devin Shore and number 29 Vince Dunn. Time of the goal 6;45. Kings goal scored by number 12 Trevor Moore (1st of the game and 14th of the season), assisted by number 24 Phillip Danault and number 22 Kevin Fiala. Time of the goal 13:32.

1st Period Penalties: Kraken penalty to number 41 Pierre Edouard-Bellemare 2 minute minor for Tripping at 16:45.

2nd Period Analysis: The Kings managed to get more chances in the offensive zone early on and get some good shots on target. The Kings also through the first five minutes of the period did not allow the Kraken to advance into the offensive zone and get good opportunities on net. The Kings had their second powerplay opportunity of the game with 12 minutes left in the period as Seattle defenseman Ryker Evans took an interference pentaku near the near wall. The Kraken were able to get in the shooting lanes on the Kings powerplay. Seattle had a few odd man rushes but couldn't find the net but managed to allow Kings defenseman Jordan Spence to trip a Kraken player and earn Seattle their first powerplay of the game. The Kraken were able to get some good chances but could not get a goal on their powerplay opportunity. Both teams have good shots on target throughout the period. Towards the end of the period the Kraken managed to get more chances on net. Mikey Anderson had a huge hit behind the play on Will Borgen which led to a pileup of players from both teams near the benches. The Kings managed to get a powerplay due to Borgen roughing Anderson after the previous scrum. Anze Kopitar caught a great pass from Quinton Byfieid and Kopitar was right near the far side of the net to tap in the goal on the power play for the Kings. The Kings took a one goal lead heading into the second intermission.

2nd Period Goals: Kings goal scored on the powerplay by number 11 Anze Kopitar (1st of the game and 12th of the season), assisted by number 55 Quinton Byfield and number 9 Adrian Kempe. Time of the goal 17:16.

2nd Period Penalties: Kraken penalty to number 39 Ryker Evans 2 minute minor for Interference at 7:21. Kings penalty to number 21 Jordan Spence 2 minute minor for Tripping at 9:27. Kraken penalty to number 3 Will Borgen 2 minute minor for Roughing at 16:13.

3rd Period Analysis: The Kings controlled more zone time throughout the first few minutes of the period. The Kings have also been out shooting Seattle throughout the night. The Kings also were playing extremely good on the defensive end and not allowing the Kraken to get any chances to get into the offensive zone midway through the period. The Kraken managed multiple chances throughout the last half of the third period but could not really get any good looks at the net when they had the puck in the offensive zone. Mikey Anderson cleared the puck over the glass from the Kings own zone and was penalized for a delay of a penalty which resulted in a late powerplay for the Kraken. Can Talbot made a great save on the Kraken as it was a scramble near the Kings net. Kraken forward Oliver Bjorkstrand fired a shot from the top to tie the game late in the period. Regulation ended tied so the game had to be decided in overtime.

3rd Period Goals: Kraken goal scored by number 22 Oliver Bjorkstrand (1st of the game and 10th of the season), assisted by number 39 Ryker Evans and number 19 Jared McCann. Time of the goal 17:31.

3rd Period Penalties: Kings penalty to number 44 Mikey Anderson 2 minute minor for Delay of Game (Puck Over Glass) at 16:20.

OT Period Analysis: The Kings got a power play with 2 minutes left in the OT period. The Kings could not convert on the power play. The Kings controlled all of the zone time in the period. No goals were scored so the game went to a shootout.

OT: No Goals were scored.

OT Penalties: Kraken penalty to number 29 Vince Dunn 2 minute minor for Slashing at 2:00.
