2020-21 Regular Season Game 9 Anaheim Ducks Vs Los Angeles Kings

1st Period Goals: Anaheim Ducks goal scored by number 43 Danton Heinen, the goal was his (1st of the game and 3rd of the season). Time of the goal 10:07. 


1st Period Penalties: LA Kings penalty to number 56 Kurtis MacDermid, a 5 minute major for Fighting. Time of the penalty 3 seconds. Anaheim Ducks penalty to number 20 Nichols Deslauriers, a 5 minute major for Fighting. Time of the penalty 3 seconds. 


1st Period analysis: right off the opening draw Kurtis Macdermid and Nichols Deslauriers dropped the gloves and fought. The Kings have been keeping the pressure in the Anaheim zone and getting good shots on net. The Ducks get a good chance from a bad angle shot but Cal Petersen makes a good save. Both teams have had decent chances on net and good rushes into the zone. The Kings have had more zone time than the Ducks midway through the period. The Ducks got a goal off a scramble from behind the net and Danton Heinen was right in front of the net to bury the puck home. The Kings had a difficult time getting the puck out of their own zone this period.

2nd Period Goals: Anaheim Ducks goal scored by number 21 David Backes, the goal was his 1st of the game and season. Time of the goal 17 seconds. LA KINGS GOAL scored by number 34 ARTHUR KALIYEV. The goal was his first career NHL goal. ASSISTED BY NUMBER 10 MICHAEL AMADIO and  NUMBER 8 DREW DOUGHTY. Time of the goal 5:32


2nd Period Penalties: None


2nd Period analysis: The Ducks get a goal right at the start of the period as David Backes fired a shot point blank to make it a 2-0 Ducks lead. Throughout the first five minutes the Ducks were getting good chances on net. The Kings were turning the puck over a lot midway through the period. Drew Doughty made a pass out of the corner to Arthur Kaliyev who jammed home to puck to cut the Ducks lead in half and Arthur got his first ever NHL goal. The Kings are getting more zone time and chances in the offensive zone. The Ducks have continued to get more shots on net midway through the period. The Kings have gotten more pucks deep in the offensive zone and good pressure in the zone as well. Kale Clauge had some great shots at the top as well the Kings had good puck movement as well. Cal Petersen made two great saves to keep the game alive and the Kings defense played great as well. Alex Iafallo fires a shot that went just a bit outside, the Kings have had a lot of pressure and zone time towards the end of the period. The Kings have played great defense in thier own zone.

3rd Period Goals: Anaheim Ducks goal scored by number 20 Nichols Deslauriers, the goal was his (1st of the game and 3rd of the season). Time of the goal 19:14


3rd Period Penalties: Anaheim Ducks penalty to number 47 Hampus Lindholm a 2 minute minor for Holding. Time of the penalty 1:01. LA Kings penalty a 2 minute minor for Too Many Men On Ice (penalty served by Lias Andersson). Time of the penalty 3:17


3rd Period analysis: The Ducks take the first minor penalty of the game. The Kings have generated good chances on the net during the power play opportunity. The Kings could not capitalize on their power play chance. Cal Petersen made a great stop on a two man rush. Seconds after the penalty expired the Kings took a penalty themselves. The Kings managed to kill off the penalty. The Kings have had a hard time getting the puck out of their own zone throughout the game. The Ducks have had lots of pressure and zone time in the period, Cal Petersen has saved the Kings with some great saves throughout the game. The Ducks get a empty net goal to finish off the game.
