2020-21 Regular Season Game 17 Los Angeles Kings Vs St. Louis Blues



1st Period Analysis: The Kings start the game off by keeping the puck in the St. Louis zone. The Blues are having a hard time getting the puck out of their own zone. The Kings are entering the offensive zone well as the team has skated up through the neutral zone and managed to get some zone time and get a good shot on goal. The Blues get some good chances on net and the Kings do a great job on the defense as they kept the Blues from getting a goal as they jammed the puck on net, but Jonathan Quick made a good save to keep the game scoreless. The Blues get more chances with about five into the game. Jonathan Quick has made some great saves early on to keep the game scoreless. Most of the play early on has been in the King's zone. The Kings continue to get some good shots on net and get some pressure deep in the offensive zones. Both teams are having one and done chances when they enter the zone, as both teams are playing good defense. Jeff Carter got a few good shots on goal midway through the period. The Blues kept the pressure in the King's zone as they managed to get lots of chances in the zone and pressure as well. Anze Kopitar made a nice move in the offensive zone and then fired a hard shot on net. That chance from Kopitar was the best chance of the period. Andreas Anthanasou had a burst of speed down the right side and then got tripped up and the Kings got the first power play of the game. The Kings jammed the puck down low and Gabe Vilardi scored on the powerplay to give the Kings the lead late in the period. The Kings get some pressure in the zone towards the end of the period.

2nd Period Analysis: The Kings start of the period with some good chances in the offensive zone. Both teams have had good chances in the opening few minutes, Sean Walker has done a nice job on defense for the Kings as well. The Kings have also made some great defensive plays by checking in their own zone. Andreas Anthanasou controlled the puck well in the offensive zone with a nice spin move and kept the puck in the zone. The Kings continued the keep the pressure in the offensive zone as Carl Grundstrom fired a slap shot on net for a great shot. Andreas Anthanasou takes the first penalty for the Kings midway through the period. The Kings manage to kill off the power play. Jonathan Quick made a good save as the Blues get a good chance down low in the offensive zone. The Kings get another power play chance with about ten minutes to play. The Kings had lots of great chances on the power play, but Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington made some good stops on the Kings power play units. The Kings continue to get pressure into the offensive zone, as Dustin Brown scores a sick goal as dekes around a Blues defender and scores while falling down to make it a 2-0 game. The Kings head into the 3rd with a commanding two goal lead.


2nd Period Goals: LA KINGS GOAL SCORED BY NUMBER 23 DUSTIN BROWN. The goal was his (1st of the game and 9th of the season). Time of the goal 18:54.


2nd Period Penalties:  LA Kings penalty to Andreas Anthanasou a 2 minute minor for Tripping. Time of the penalty 6:01. St Louis Blues penalty to number 6 Marco Scandella, a 2 minute minor for Hooking. Time of the penalty 9:35.


3rd Period Analysis: The Blues start the period on fire as they had lots of zone time and great shots on net but Jonathan Quick played aggressively and made some great saves. The Kings have had some good chances of their own during the period. The Kings continued to add some pressure in the offensive zone. The Kings score an empty net goal and seal the game off by a score of 3-0.
