2020-21 Regular Season Game 15 LA Kings Vs Arizona Coyotes

 1st Period Analysis: Both teams start the game out with a scum along the boards in the Kings zone. Both the Kings and Coyotes are feeling out the game as the Kings have gotten the puck in the offensive zone but have not had any good chances on net. The Coyotes have had the same amount of chances as the Kings early on in the period. Both teams defense’s have played good… until Dustin Brown stripped the puck out of a scum in the Coyotes zone and scored to make it a 1-0 Kings lead. The Kings have gained momentum after scoring the goal, as well the team has had good breakouts into the offensive zone. Arizona has had a rough start by not being able to enter the Kings zone cleanly. The Kings take a delay of game penalty five minutes into the period. Arizona managed to keep the puck in the offensive zone throughout the power play but couldn’t capitalize. The Kings have created some good pressure in the offensive zone. Defenseman Mikey Anderson had a good shift on a Kings rush midway through the period as he fired a good shot from the top of the slot. The Kings have also played good defense as well in the defensive and neutral zones. The Kings managed to get a goal after the team challenged a goalie interference call. The Kings had a few power plays towards the end of the period but could not get a goal on either of the two chances. 


1st Period Goals: LA KINGS GOAL SCORED BY NUMBER 23 DUSTIN BROWN, the goal was his (1st of the game and 8th of the season). ASSISTED BY NUMBER 11 ANZE KOPITAR and NUMBER 44 MIKEY ANDERSON. Time of the goal 4:21. LA KINGS GOAL SCORED BY NUMBER 77 JEFF CARTER, the goal was his (1st of the game and 3rd of the season). ASSISTED BY NUMBER 8 DREW DOUGHTY. Time of the goal 11:50.


1st Period Penalties: LA Kings penalty to number 3 Matt Roy, a 2 minute minor for Delay (puck over glass). Time of the penalty 6:36. Arizona Coyotes penalty to number 5 Jakob Chychrun a 2 minute minor for Slashing. Time of the penalty 12:43. Arizona Coyotes penalty to number 4 Niklas Hjalmarsson a 2 minute minor for Tripping. Time of the penalty 18:16.

2nd Period Analysis: 58 seconds into the period the Coyotes scored to make it a 1-2 game. The Coyotes gain momentum and get some good chances to tie the game up early on in the period. The Kings can’t get the puck out of their own zone and Jeff Carter takes a penalty for Hooking only 3 minutes into the period. The Kings manage to kill of the penalty but the Yoyes tied the game as the got a good front net presence and Phill Kessel buried home the puck. Both Arizona goals were scored five minutes apart from each other. The Kings have gotten some pucks down into the offensive zone, but it’s been all Arizona with pressure and zone time throughout the first seven minutes. The Kings have gotten some good shots on goal even though they have not been clean shots on net, instead the team is trying to get in front and tip shots from the point. The game has also slowed down in the period as it is not as fast paced the first period was. Dustin Brown had great chance to score as he caught a great pass from Anze Kopitar to create a 2 on 1 rush. Both teams have managed to get good breakouts into the offensive zones. The Kings get some pressure into the offensive zone for a good few shifts towards the end of the period. Both teams head into the third period tied at 2.


2nd Period Goals: Arizona Coyotes goal scored by number 83 Conor Garland, the goal was his (1st of the game and 7th of the season). Time of the goal 1:00. Arizona Coyotes goal scored by number 81 Phil Kessel, the goal was his (1st of the game and 5th of the season). Time of the goal 5:50. 


2nd Period Penalties:  LA Kings penalty to number 77 Jeff Carter a 2 minute minor for Hooking. Time of the penalty 3:44.

3rd Period Analysis: The Kings have had some good chances and started the period of strong with a good rush into the offensive zone but they couldn’t get a goal but had some good zone time.  Both teams have dumped and chased the puck into the offensive zone to create some chances on net. Arizona has managed to get some pressure by keeping the puck down low in the Kings zone. Alex Iafallo had a good shot from the top of the right circle halfway through the period. Both teams have had good chances so far in the period, as well both teams have had scrums along the boards. The Kings take a penalty about 8 minutes into the period. The Kings killed off another penalty and have had a perfect penalty kill so far in the game. The Kings had a great rush but the Kings had to much speed and the could not execute on what would have been a wide open net chance. The Kings get their first powerplay of the period and get two good shots on net early on in the powerplay. The Kings could not execute on the powerplay. Both teams have had one and dine chances later in the period. Both teams couldn’t settle the game in regulation so the game will go to overtime. 


3rd Period Goals: None
