2020-21 Regular Season Game 20 Los Angeles Kings Vs Minnesota Wild

 

1st Period Analysis: The game started off as Minnesota kept the pressure in the King's zone, and got a chance. The Kings get some good chances on net and got some good pressure in the offensive zone. Andres Athanasiou had a great breakaway but could not put the puck in the net to give the Kings a goal five minutes into the period. The Kings have gotten into the offensive zone early on in the period and had good quality chances. Cal Petersen made a great stop and a 2 on 1 opportunity for the Wild. Minnesota gets some good quality shots on net, but could also not get a goal on the board. The Kings have had great zone entires and zone time as they have gotten all five players invoked and gotten some good chances on net. Minnesota gets a goal of a weird bounce as Joel Eriksson Ek tipped a pass and Cal Petersen tried to grab the puck as it was rolling behind him but was not quick enough. The Wild get another goal off a deflection to make it a 2-0 lead. The Kings head into the 2nd period down by two goals.

2nd Period Analysis: The Wild score early on to make it 3-0. The Kings will have a power play early on to in the period for the first power play of the game. The Kings get a goal on the power play to make it a 1-3 game. The Kings take a penalty right after scoring, but not before Jeff Carter had a great shot on net. The Kings managed to kill of the penalty before taking another penalty and killing that one as well. The Kings scored on a breakaway as Austin Wagner buried the puck home to make it a 2-3 game. Both teams managed to get good chances on net and pressure in the offensive zone this period.

3rd Period Analysis: The Kings had a power play to start the period but could not convert. Minnesota has had some good zone time esrly on in the period. Both teams have gotten chances midway through the period. The Wild take a penalty late in the period. The Kings could not get a goal on the powerplay and are unsuccessful. The Kings get another powerplay late in the period. The Kings tied the game off a rocket as Adrian Kempe scored late with under 2 minutes to play. The game was tied heading into regulation and into overtime.
