2018-19 Regular Season Game 64 Dallas Stars Vs LA Kings

Good Evening Kings Fans! Tonight your LA Kings are back home for a four game homestand as tonight they faceoff against the Dallas Stars. Dallas is Fighting to make the playoffs as the are sitting in 2nd place for the final wild card spot in the playoffs. Matt Luff has been recalled by the Kings. Kurtis MacDermjd will be playing tonight after being scratched last game. Tonight is Trevor Lewi’s 600th NHL game.

1st period analysis
Kings kill a penalty early in the period and were slow starting the game but they were finding some good offensive zone time in the first 5 minutes of the period. Kyle Clifford had a good shot on goal off of a turnover the Kings had in the offensive zone. The Kings get a goal of the face poof as Tyler Toffoli gives the puck to Sean Walker and he slid the puck to Anze Kopitar who was sitting on the back side of the net and tapped the puck home. The Kings defense is looking strong as the team has been stick checking well. The Kings offensive zone time and puck possession is at a high rate in the period. Kings get a powerplay with under 10 minutes remaining in the period. Drew Doughty fired a laser and the puck hit Brendan Lepsic’s leg and in the net as the Kings get a powerplay goal. Dallas got a goal back as Tyler Seguin gives the puck to Taylor Fedun takes a shot and Seguin puts it home 
to cut the Kings lead in half.

At 7:57 in the 1st period the Kings made it a 1-0. The goal was scored by number 11 Anze Kopitar, the goal was his (1st of the game and 18th of the season). 2nd period analysis
The Kings have carried over the high zone time and puck possession from the first period and are getting high quality shots on target, the Kings forecheck tonight has been on fire as the Kings have been having good breakouts from the neutral zone into the offensive zone. Dallas had good zone time in the King's zone and Mattias Janmark beat Jonathan Quick to tie the game. The Kings have had some good shots from the top but the Kings can not get any rebounds, Dustin Brown made a nice stretch pass to Tyler Toffoli who made a nice deke and got a good shot and Anze Kopitar picked up the loose change and made it a 3-2 game. Jonathan Quick has made some nice saves on the Stars when the Kings have given up the puck in their own zone. The Kings take a penalty with under 5 minutes remaining in the period. The Kings get a powerplay with under 2 minutes remaining in the period but are unsuccessful.  

At 6:14 in the 2nd period, the Stars tied the game. The goal was scored by number 13 Mattias Janmark, the goal was his (1st of the game and 6th of the season). Then at 11:46 the Kings made it a 3-2 game. The goal was scored by number 11 Anze Kopitar, the goal was his (2nd of the game and 19th of the season).

3rd period analysis

The Kings have had some good breakouts early in the period. The Kings take a penalty for goalie interference five minutes into the period, the Kings get a powerplay was unsuccessful once again. The Stars get loose puck and get a break into the Kings end and Blake Comeau fires a slapshot and the puck is rebounded home by Radek Faksa  to tie the game at 3-3. The game was tied at the end of regulation so the game went into overtime.

2018-19 Regular Season Game 63 LA Kings Vs Carolina Hurricanes

Good Evening Kings Fans! Tonight your Kings end thier four game road trip as they head to Raleigh, North Carolina to take on the Hurricanes. The Kings fell last night to the Tampa Bay Lighting 4-3 in a shootout loss. The Kings have not been playing good lately despite last night’s comeback in the 3rd period: the Kings have not shown enough energy from the players.

1st period analysis
The Kings take a penalty 55 seconds into the game and then give up a goal 10 seconds into the Tampa Bay powerplay. The Kings are getting chances late in the period but can not find the back of the net. The King's get two powerplays late in the period, but could not convert on them. Despite how bad the Kings have been playing the team has been making crisp and hard passes.

The Kings get a good shot on a breakaway chance by Anze Kopitar. The Kings have had a few powerplay chances but could not score. The Kings got some chances late in the period but could not get a goal.

Kings Trade Oscar Fantenberg to the Calgary Flames

The only move your Kings made at the Trade Deadline was to the Calgary Flames for the Flames 2020 Fourth round pick in exchange for Kings defensman Oscar Fantenberg. Fantenberg joined the Kings two season ago by coming in to the league as a free agent and earning a spot of the Kings training Camp in the summer of 2016
