2018-19 Regular Season Game 18 LA Kings Vs Chicago Blackhawks

Good Evening hockey fans! Tonight your LA Kings head into the Windy City of Chicago to take on the Blackhawks for the only time this season; Both the Kings and Hawks are struggling as both teams are in the bottom of their respective divisions in the Western Conference. Earlier this week the Kings traded forward Tanner Pearson to the Pittsburgh Penguin, in exchange for forward Carl Hagelin. Hagelin brings the speed that this Kings team needs. The Kings will embark on a three game road trip  that starts tonight and ends this Monday November 19th in St. Louis. Kings are recalling goalitender from Ontario Cole Kehler.

1st period analysis
The Kings maintained pressure in the offensive zone early in the period. Cal Petersen was playing good. The Kings were passing hard and taking shots from the point but were not able to put it on net. Kings were getting good turnovers in the neutral zone. Kings using their speed to enter the offensive zone to get to the front of the net but can’t find the back of the net. Kings skating very well throughout the whole period.

At 10:29 in the 2nd period the Kings scored to take a 1-0 lead. The goal was scored by number 73 Tyler Toffoli, the goal was his (1st of the game and 5th of the season).


2nd period analysis
Throughout the early part of the period the Kings were in Chicago’s zone and continued to fire shots on net. Good transition from a turnover leads to a goa for the Kings. The Kings managed to kill off penalties and take the puck down the ice on the short handed. Cal Petersen having a tremendous period. Kings playing solid defenseman by breaking up passes and blocking shots.

At 2:39 in the 3rd period the Blackhawks tied the game up at 1-1. The goal was scored by number 20 Brandon Sadd, the goal was his (1st of the game and 5th of the season).

3rd period analysis
Kings have a defensive break down which leads to a Hawks goal. The Kings have lost the pressure in the offensive zone as the Hawks gained more momentum. Kings have been playing on their heels this period. Both teams having great chances on odd man rushes.

There were no goals scored in the Overtime period, so the game went into a shootout. The Kings win the shootout 2-0, Kings goals were scored by number 17 Ilya Kovalchuk and number 11 Anze Kopitar. Kings win the game 2-1.
