1st Period analysis
The Kings get a breakout as Anze Kopitar flew down the far wall and took a shot which was tipped by Dustin brown and Kopitar picked up the rebound to take an early lead. Blake Lizotte levied Andreas Annastohiu which thunderous hip check. Both teams had decent chances throughout the first 10 minutes of the period. The Kings are getting sticks in the lane disrupting the Red Wings passes in the Detroit offensive zone. The Kings have cycled the puck well in the offensive zone. The Kings are shifting the momentum back as they are creating good chances in the offensive zone, the Kings get a point blank chance on net but could not put the puck home. Jonathan Quick makes a great save on Dylan Larkin as he deflected the puck, but Quick denied him with a glove save. The Kings had momentum most of the period and the team looked solid through one period of play,

2nd Period analysis
Detroit gets a goal under 5 minutes in to tie the game, the Red Wings came out in this period with lots of speed and skill. Blake Lizotte had a great point blank chance but could not score. The Kings have taken some good looks from the top of the slot midway through the period. The Kings scoring chances have came from loose pucks that the Red Wings have left in open space or the Kings have knocked the puck loose from the Detroit players. On a defensive note the Kings have been doing a great job with poke checks and are throwing the body around laying some good quality hits, Detroit gets some good quality shots on net very late in the period. Both teams get chances in the final minute of the period.

Detroit creates a turnover and makes the Kings pay as they take the lead. The Kings are firing shots from the top but haven’t found a way to tie the game. The Red Wings are creating tons of offensive pressure early on in the third. The Kings powerplay hasn’t been productive the last few games as they haven’t scored one in two games. The Kings have been offside a lot during tonight’s game. Detroit has been playing more physical by checking and poking the puck away in the defensive zone. Matt Roy fired a shot from the top and Adrian Kempe ties the game up late in the period with a minute and a half to go.
