1st period analysis
Both teams came out flying early and were getting good chances on net. The Kings were showing good pressure in the Sharks zone as they were battling behind the net and winning the puck cleanly. The Kings are having a hard time bringing the puck out of their own zone and getting it up the ice into the neutral zone. Kyle Clifford had a breakaway but couldn’t put the puck in the net. Jake Muzzin takes a Tripping midway through the period. The Kings are doing a great job on the penalty kill as Jack Campbell is making some good saves and the Kings are using their sticks to break up the San Jose attack. Carl Hagelin, and Adrian Kempe’s line are getting good looks in the Sharks zone. A defensive breakdown by the Kings leads to a Sharks goal towards the end of the period. Dion Phaneuf threw a hard check on Sharks forward Joonas Donskoi which lead to Adrian Kempe and Evander Kane exchanging a few words with one another as the period came to a close.

2nd period analysis
The Sharks are getting chances in the King's zone early on in the period. Dion Phaneuf is continuing to agitate the San Jose players. Anze Kopitar had a nice give in go pass with Dustin Brown in the Sharks zone which lead to Kopitar scoring the tying goal. The Kings are putting the pressure on the Sharks and getting good quality shots on goal. Kings goaltender Jack Campbell is making some good saves for the Kings in this period. The Sharks get another goal as the reclaim the lead on a Tomas Hertl backhand shot that beats Jack Campbell glove side. The Kings are not putting enough pressure into the offensive zone as the Kings are dumping and chasing the puck. Tonight’s game has been very physical which is always the case when these two teams play each other. The Kings are playing on their heels here late in the period. The Kings and Sharks were battling along the near broads and had a good scrum for the puck as the Sharks ended up winning the battle. Carl Hagelin takes a Hooking penalty late in the period. Jack Campbell is making some good saves on the Sharks power play.

The Kings are playing good hockey late in the game and are still pushing to tie the game up. The Kings are getting good chances on net. San Jose is still trying to keep their lead.
