1st Period Analysis: Both teams came out strong by getting lots of pressure and zone time in the offensive zone, as well as good puck movement too. The Avalanche get a goal as forward Nazem Kadri chipped the puck along the near made a nice toe drag around Tobias Bjornfot and ripped the puck past Cal Petersen to make it 1-0. The Kings managed to get some chances late in the period but could not manage to tie the game late in the period.
