LA Kings name new head coach for 2017-18 NHL season

On April 23rd, 2017 the LA Kings promoted their assistant coach John Stevens to head coach of the Kings for the 2017-18 season. This comes 14 days after the Kings fired former head coach Darryl Sutter and general manager Dean Lombardi, Dean and Darryl lead the Kings to their two Stanley Cup championships in 2012 and 2014. Stevens will become the Kings 27th head coach in franchise history. A press conference will be held at Staples Center on Monday April 24th, 2017
