LA Kings 2016-17 season review and personal thoughts

Well Kings fans its sad to see our beloved LA Kings out of the playoffs, but I am proud of this Kings team. There were some ups and downs to this season one of those downs was losing our goaltender number 32 Jonathan Quick due to a groin strain in the first game of the season against the San Jose Sharks on October 12th, 2016. It was a a huge lose for the Kings as the team had goalie trouble as backups Peter Budaji and Jeff Zatkoff let up a lot of goals. Another key downside was the Kings could not score on rebounds and I think those were two key issues that the Kings had this season. When the Kings got Jonathan Quick back for the last 3 months of the season, it looked like the Kings would have a shot at making the playoffs, but they could not win the games that they should have won easily.

The Kings hall of fame broadcaster Bob Miller said it was his last season this year and he called the last two Kings games of the season and he did a terrific job on his final two broadcast with the club! I have listened to Bob calling Kings games growing up and Bob has been a amazing role model for me and I want to be a broadcaster like Bob as my career.

Thank you Kings fans for checking out this blog and thank you for anyone has been reading this daily and sharing with your family and friends. Have a amazing and safe summer Kings fans, let's go and try and win our 3rd Stanley Cup next season!

Go Kings Go!

Sincerely, Justin G

Some key factors heading into the 2017-18 season and NHL Draft. We had a lot of young players make the leap from AHL to NHL and the key elements are still in place. #23 Brown seemed to find his game and if we can dump a major contract like #12 Gabo - Sign #70 Pearson and #73 Toffoli the Kings will be in Good shape. I hear #88 Iggy is possibly thinking 1 more year and if they can get him for $2M he would be a great pick-up as well..... additional factors - Goalie Ryan Miller - Lets see where he turns up.... Look forward to hearing more from you as the Playoffs continue..... Remember Kings Fan first - Hockey fan second. Keep writing and Look forward to more.

I agree with your comments on what the Kings need to do this off season. If the Kings make any huge signings I will have the updates here and I think it will be a rebuilding season for the Kings this coming season and they need to get some skilled and speed players in the offseason. I hope you have a great summer, and even though the Kings are out of the playoffs I will always watch hockey, even though my team isn't in it I still love watching the games.
