On December 20, 2016 the LA Kings faced the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This is the final netting between the two clubs, the Kings won the last meeting between the two teams was on October 25th. The Kings won that game in overtime 3-2 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. There were no goals in the 1st period. At 7:35 the Jackets scored to make it a 1-0. The goal was scored by 13 Cam Atkinson, It was his (2nd goal of the game and 14th of the season). Then at 10:16 the Kings tied it back up at 2-2, The goal was scored by number 77 Jeff Carter. It was his (2nd goal of the game and 16th of the season). The game went into overtime no goals were scored in overtime. The game then went into a shootout and the Jackets won it 2-1 and won the game 3-2. The Kings improve to (16-13-4) and the Blue Jackets improve to (21-5-4)
