LA Kings Eastern Conference road trip recap January 25-February 1

The Kings headed into this Eastern Conference road trip with a record of 11-11-4. 

The first matchup of the road trip saw the Kings head to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Blue Jackets. The Kings trailed the whole game and tied it late if a Quinton Byfield shot a minute and five seconds left in the game. The Kings eventually ended up losing the game in overtime by a score of 3-2 but earned a point in the process.

The Kings next opponent was a matchup with the Detroit Red Wings. The game was tightly contested until the tied period where the Red Wings managed to get three unanswered goals and defeating the Kings by a score of 5-2. 

The Kings then took on the defending Stanley Cup champions in the Florida Panthers in the first night of a back to back, the Panthers continued to play really good hockey and shutout the Kings by a score of 3-0. 

The next night the Kings took on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Kings also fell by a score of 3-0 to the Bolts. 

The team finished off the road trip before the 4 Nations Face Off break as the Kings headed to North Carolina to take on the Hurricanes. Fowards Trevor Moore, Phillip Danault and Kevin Fiala scored goals for the Kings, including a pair from Fiala earned the team a 4-2 victory. 

The Kings went a total of 1-2-1 on the road trip.
