LA Kings Name New Head Coach Todd McLellan

Today your LA Kings hired Todd McLellan as the team’s 29th head coach. McLellan formerly coached the Edmonton Oilers from 2015-16 season to November 20th of the 2018-19 season. He also coached the San Jose Sharks from 2008-09 to the 2014-15 season. McLellan was coaching the Sharks and faced the Kings three times in the playoffs in 2011 2013 and 2014.

LA Kings 2019 NHL Draft Lottery

Tonight April 9th, 2019 is the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery. The Kings will have a pick in the top 5 picks this year. Here’s how the Draft Lottery will work

There will be three lottery drawings. The first draw determines the team selecting first overall, the second draw determines the team selecting second, and the third draw determines the team selecting third. The 12 teams whose ping pong balls were not chosen will be slotted in the 4-15 draft spots in inverse order of their regular season points.

The Kings will fall no further than the fifth pick in the lottery. The Kings will have a 26.5% chance at getting a top two pick.

The Kings will be drafting 5th overall at this years draft.

This season was a lot of disappointment for your Kings. They ended up getting 2nd to last place in the whole league. The Kings will hire a new head coach this offseason along with trying to acquire new players via free agency, trading, or getting prospects in the draft

LA Kings sign St. Cloud State forward Blake Lizotte

Today your LA Kings signed forward St. Cloud State forward Blake Lizotte to a 3 year entry year deal. He will wear number 46 for the Kings and will expect to play in the Kings regular season finale against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.

2018-19 Regular Season Game 79 Calgary Flames Vs LA Kings

Good Evening Kings Fans! Tonight the Calgary Flames are in town to battle your LA Kings for the final time this season. The Flames have Clinched the number 1 overall seed in the Western Conference for the playoffs. Kings forwards Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar will be reconisged for reaching huge milestones with the club, Kopitar will be playing his 1,000 NHL game tonight (Kopitar will get a silver stick for the game this Saturday April 6th for playing his 1,000 game tonight). While for Brown he will be reconsigned for playing his 1,112 which broke former LA King Dave Taylor’s games played record.

In Kings prospect news the team has signed forward Sean Durzi to a three year entry level contract today. Durzi is a 20 year old right handed shot defenseman who the Kings got as part of the trade to Toronto that sent Jake Muzzin to the Leafs.
